Definition of Household Waste:
🏡Household waste includes garbage, trash, and sanitary waste originating from:
âś…Single and multi-family residences
âś…Hotels and motels
âś…Bunkhouses and ranger stations
âś…Crew quarters and campgrounds
âś…Picnic grounds and recreation areas used during the daytime
🚨New Tipping Fees for Non-Household and Commercial Waste (see attached)
Due to financial constraints, tipping fees will take effect on July 1, 2025, for all non-household and commercial waste, as adopted by the Board of County Commissioners on February 4, 2025.
This resolution also increased parcel fees by $5 per year to help sustain landfill operations. The Pahrump Landfill is projected to reach capacity within the next 15 years.
Reminder to Residents:
Household waste disposal remains free with a valid Nevada ID, with a Nye County address.
All other waste categories will be subject to the new tipping fees. Residents and commercial users are encouraged to review updated landfill regulations and plan accordingly. For more information, please contact Nye County Public Works at 775-751-6262 or email publicworks@nyecountynv.gov
