Board of Equalization

Meetings

The Board of Equalization convenes twice each assessment year and continues in session during regular office hours until all taxpayer appeals are heard or otherwise resolved. Hearings are usually conducted at either Pahrump or Tonopah.

Agendas are available three business days by 9 a.m. prior to the meeting date per NRS 241.020.3

Members

The Board is an independent body organized to adjudicate appeals of various determinations made by county agencies.

It is comprised of five citizen members and alternate members appointed by the Nye County Commissioners to a 4-year term to provide an impartial hearing environment that protects each party's due process rights and results in a fair decision.

NYE COUNTY BOARD OF EQUALIZATION APPEALS

If you have a question about your assessed value, please contact your appraiser at either of our offices. Board of Equalization appeal forms will be prepared for you at this time if needed. Appeals must be mailed to the Nye County Assessor's Office, and be postmarked no later than January 15th, to either of the following addresses:
