Nevada Division of Environmental Protection is hosting a Mercury Collection Event in Tonopah on Saturday, May 15th, from 10 am to 2 pm.
The collection will be at the Nye County Road Department Yard, 377 Jackson St.
The collection is open to residents of Nye County. Only elemental mercury is household qualities will be accepted. Must be delivered in a sealed, undamaged, or original component
housing/container (glass or metal that does not leak).
Not being accepted:
- Commercially-generated elemental mercury
- Light fixture ballasts
- Fluorescent lights, HID lamps, or CFL bulbs
- Blood pressure gauges
- Mercury combined with any other compounds (PCBs, fluorides, chlorides, bromides, iodides, etc.)
