Nye County is in the process of updating our Hazard Mitigation Plan. The Hazard Mitigation Plan serves as a framework for developing hazard mitigation projects that will reduce the negative impacts of future disasters on the communities in Nye County. Completion of the plan update is critical. The next step in the plan update process is a public review and comment period of the initial draft of the updated Hazard Mitigation Plan.
The plan is available for review by the public on the Nye County Website or by contacting Patrick Lazenby at Nye County Emergency Management dplazenby@nyecountynv.gov or at 775-751-4279 to request a copy of the draft plan.
The public review period will be from October 16, 2023, to October 30, 2023.
You may send comments in reference to the draft plan via email to Patrick at the email address above or in person at the public meeting at 1 pm on Monday, October 23, 2023, at Pahrump Commission Chambers, 2100 E. Walt Williams Drive.
