At the November 9, 2010 Nye County Board of Commissioners Meeting the Board approved the following applications to be submitted to the Commission on Economic Development – Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program for the following projects:
1. Beatty Water and Sanitation District for Master Plan
Objective is to address lack of master plan and adequate utility mapping
CDBG funds requested $54,000 – $77,000
2. Town of Tonopah for Rehabilitation of Belvada Apartments for use as
Community/Convention Center and Library Space
Objective is to rehabilitate historical structure, as well as eliminate public health
and safety issues
CDBG funds requested $250,000
Public comments regarding the above projects will be accepted through December 8, 2010. The Nye County Commissioners will address all comments received at the December 21, 2010 Board of Commissioners Meeting.
