[ARCHIVED] Nye County Invites Letters of Interest For Public Defense Services

Nye County is announcing a formal request for Letters of Interest (LOI), including qualifications, from attorneys and law firms interested in providing public defense services for indigent clients. The selected individuals or firms will serve the 5th Judicial District Court and the Justice Courts of Beatty, Pahrump, and Tonopah.

Contracts are valued at up to $200,000 annually, with payments made in quarterly installments. Services include legal representation for adult criminal cases, juvenile matters, and child welfare proceedings, with all work performed in accordance with the Nevada State Bar’s Rules of Professional Conduct, ABA Model Rules, and the Board of Indigent Defense Services’ Permanent Regulations.

  • Submission Deadline: 5:00 p.m., July 25, 2025

  • Contract Award Announcement: August 5, 2025

Interested parties must submit an application to the Department of Indigent Defense Services and demonstrate compliance with relevant training and qualifications standards.
