A contractor with the Great Basin Water Co. will be conducting soil testing at the intersection of Homestead Road/Winery Road at Highway 160. The first testing took place last night, February 3rd, and will continue on February 4th and 5th starting at 10 p.m. until 6 a.m. the next morning. They will be drilling 14 holes to a depth of 10 feet.
The testing is in and around the area of the of the waterline break that happened in late 2017. The results will be used by a soils engineer to put together a plan to repair the areas impacted by the break.
Nye County Road Department placed a temporary cold-mix road covering in the area in May.
Please have consideration for the testing personnel by slowing down and being cautions within this work zone.
