Commissioner Debra Strickland has been named the new chair of the Board of County Commissioners for 2024. Strickland's fellow commissioners made the unanimous vote during their regular meeting on Wednesday, January 3rd. She served as chair in 2021 and as vice-chair in 2020 and 2023.
Commissioner Ron Boskovich was selected as vice-chair.
Commissioner Frank Carbone was re-elected as chair of the Board of Highway Commissioners, and Commissioner Boskovich was re-elected vice-chair.
Nye County Sheriff Joe McGill was re-appointed to chair the County Licensing and Liquor Board, and Commissioner Bruce Jabbour was selected as vice-chair.
All appointments are for one year.
