Nye County Public Works will be hosting a series of Encroachment Permit Workshops in the towns throughout the county in the coming weeks.
Contractors and the public are invited to the informative meetings as an opportunity for Public Works representatives to help "all the communities to understand the encroachment permit review and approval process," said Tim Dahl, Public Works Director.
The first workshop will be held Monday, November 4th, in the Board of County Commission Chambers in Tonopah, 101 Radar Road, at 6 p.m.
Issues to be covered in the workshop will include:
How to complete an encroachment permit and traffic plan
Where to find encroachment permit documents
Where to submit an encroachment permit
What can be installed in the right-of-way
Encroachment permit fee schedule
Description of an obstruction
When to expect a response
Other workshops are scheduled for:
Round Mountain, Thursday, November 7th, 6 p.m., at the Donald L. Simpson Community Center, 650 Civic Drive, Hadley Subdivision;

"These workshops are not about throwing stones or what has been done in the past," Dahl said. "But about a path to move forward, helping everyone understand where we want to go in the future."
