[ARCHIVED] Kampf appointed interim County Clerk; Merlino retires Friday

Pahrump resident Mark F. Kampf was appointed Tuesday as interim County Clerk by the Board of County Commissioners.


Kampf served as interim County Treasurer from April to July and is the Republican nominee for the County Clerk's Office in the November General Election

  

Kampf took the Oath of Office at the County Clerk's Office in Tonopah on Tuesday and will officially take office Friday with the retirement of long-time Clerk Sam Merlino. 


Merlino joined the Clerk's Office in 1994, joined the District Attorney's Office in 1999, was appointed interim Clerk in 2000 and elected to the Office in 2000.


He was one of four people who submitted their names for consideration.
