[ARCHIVED] ARPA grant applications reopened, Premium Incentive Pay Program added

Nye County has reopened applications for the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) Small Business Grant Program, adding Premium Incentive Pay Program applications.

For Fiscal Year 2023, Nye County has $680,000 in ARPA funds to assist local Small Businesses adversely impacted by the COVID-19 public health emergency. Grant Awards have been made available for small business and nonprofit applicants with fewer than 30 employees who are independently owned and operated.

For the Premium Incentive Pay Program, Nye County may provide premium pay up to $13 per hour and capped at $25,000 per individual to eligible workers performing essential work. Volunteers are not eligible for premium pay. Payments shall be a one-time payment made directly to the applicant. Each applicant is eligible for one payment of premium pay. The applicant must claim payment as taxable income and is responsible for paying all applicable taxes on the payment. Eligible applicants must have income levels at or below 150 percent of Nevada or Nye County’s average annual wage for all occupations. As of January 16, 2023, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics listed the average annual wage as $51,520.

The application period is through April 15, 2023, or until grant funds have been exhausted. Additional information can be found at Nye County AMERICAN RESCUE PLAN ACT (ARPA) Program at nyecountynv.gov.
